The House Judiciary Committee voted 8-to-1 Tuesday on House Bill 104 that would make proposed federal restrictions on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines unenforceable in Wyoming. The bill now goes to the full House for consideration, where Representative Rosie Berger feels it doesn't stand much of a chance.
The proposed legislation would impose felony penalties on federal officials who attempted to enforce federal weapons bans. The House Judiciary committee also endorsed a separate bill that would allow Wyoming citizens who hold concealed carry permits to carry guns on public school grounds and college campuses.
