Hospital Foundation Recognizes Lead Donors for New Cancer Center

Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation Executive Director Ada Kirven spent part of Wednesday's monthly Hospital Board meeting recognizing the lead donors for the new Welch Cancer Center project.

She also thanked several representatives from the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust, who recently awarded the Hospital Foundation a $3 million grant for new equipment for the Welch Cancer Center.

Kirven also updated the Board of Trustees on the significant amount that the Foundation has already raised for the project due to the generosity of of the local foundations and Helmsley Trust grant.

Hospital Facilities Director Rob Forister said that the project is about a week ahead of schedule and that recent soil samples of the site came back favorable, which means that KWN Construction will be able to begin pouring the floor and the walls of the new cancer center soon.
