Hospital Board Presented with Solid 2010 Financial Year End Report

Hospital Board Presented with Solid 2010 Financial Year End Report

The finance committee presented another successful fiscal year – posting a net income of about $3.2 million - for Sheridan Memorial Hospital to the board during their meeting on Wednesday. Hospital CFO Ed Johlman says that even though the hospital was down in business by about $5 million for the year, several things helped them make up for that.

Hospital revenues were just over $94 million dollars. Johlman explains what a healthy budget like this translates into for the hospital.

Concrete is expected to be poured for the foundation of the Welch Cancer Center within the next few weeks, and pledges to the project continue to come in steadily, Hospital Foundation Director Ada Kirven said at the meeting.

The Medical Office Building, Cath Lab and ICU renovations are still in the beginning stages with financial and contracting updates expected to be presented to the board in the next month or so, hospital CEO Mike Mcafferty said at the meeting.

We will have more on the Welch Cancer Center, updates on other projects at the hospital and the rest of the meeting for you later today.
