The board of trustees of the Johnson County Healthcare Center got the latest reports from the department heads in the facility at their last meeting.
In the clinic, there were 1,451 patients seen in January, an increase of 127 over 2013. There were 49 new patients seen, 432 in the same day clinic while 7 were turned away. They had 341 Medicare patients, 68 Medicaid patients, and 8 tourists. 60 people were seen in the Kaycee Clinic.
Physician's Assistant Chelsea Puente is making two trips per week to the Kaycee Clinic where she is seeing 60 to 90 patients per week.
The Amie Holt Care Center is reporting 40 residents. They offered a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class that finished with six people. Half performed well on the tests while the other half performed well in the resident care portion, so all passed the class.
The hospital has one nurse returning from maternity leave while another is just going on leave and they have hired a new RN from the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper.
There were five babies delivered in December and five more in January.
Radiology is down one tech due to a resignation and the facility will be searching for a replacement.
The new medication dispenser should be installed and operational in the pharmacy by spring.
Finally, due to her husband's transfer, the audiologist has resigned and the audiology department is contracting services out to an audiologist from Gillette to fill in for now.
