The Wyoming Department of Education has announced that Highland Park Elementary School in Sheridan is one of three nominees in the state for the National Blue Ribbon Schools award.

Wyoming Department of Education Director of Federal Programs, Dr. David Holbrook says that just to be nominated is an achievement in itself.

Highland Park Principal Brent Leibach said that the staff is simply the best he's ever worked with in this thirty-three years in the profession. He added that they are a very special group of educators, who have become family.

The United States Department of Education will announce its nationwide list of Blue Ribbon Schools in September of this year.
