Johnson County's new commissioner, Jim Hicks, will be sworn into office at a ceremony Monday morning.
The ceremony will be at the new Judicial Center in the District Courtromm beginning at 11:30am.
Hicks defeated Albert “Smokey” Wildeman for his seat on the commission in the 2012 election.
Hicks will serve with incumbent Commissioners Delbert Eitel and John Gibbs.
Hicks has previously served as Mayor of Buffalo and has served on the Wyoming Water Development Commission as well as a number of local boards.
The County Commission postponed their first meeting of the year until this Tuesday to accommodate the swearing-in ceremonies Monday.
Their first meeting of 2013 will begin at 9am Tuesday upstairs in Commission offices at the Historic Courthouse.
