Grand Champion Bailey Forsness with 'Kenga.'

The Sheridan County 4-H Fair got off to a great start Saturday at the fairgrounds. That afternoon cat connoisseurs gathered in the Exhibit Hall as kids of all ages put their kitties through the paces before the judges.

Fourteen year-old Bailey Forsness from Ranchester took Grand Champion honors in the Intermediate Showmanship division with her four year-old cat “Kenga.” There's a lot that the cat judges look for.

Mary DeTavernier is the 4-H Cat Leader. Showing cats has come a long way.

The 4-H Fair ends Saturday, August 6th, but the major event of the week is the Livestock Sale on Friday the 5th. This is where the kids get a payback for all their hard work and effort that went into raising their animals. Come out and support the kids; the buyer's dinner begins at 4:30 that afternoon with the sale following.
