The students of Henry A. Coffeen Elementary school showed off their leadership skills Wednesday morning in front of a packed gymnasium of proud parents. Leadership Day is fast becoming an annual tradition at the school that touts the life skills learning students receive along with their core classes. School principal, Nikki Trahan.
The program Trahan implemented is based off of the best-selling book, “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People,” and emphasizes the importance of a positive attitude. During leadership day, these ideas are shared and demonstrated to parents by each student at the school.
Henry A. Coffeen Elementary has been nominated as a Blue Ribbon School for academic success this year by the U.S. Department of Education.
