For over twenty years, Sheridan Memorial Hospital, along with a myriad of health-related vendors have hosted a free public Health Fair at the Sheridan College Golden Dome. This year is no exception, spokesperson Cecile Pattison says they will have some new things to offer this year.
In the past, people who had their blood drawn at the annual two-week blood draw in late August would pick up their results and go over them with hospital representatives at the fair.
Now that results are mailed out, Pattison says that there won't be terrible lines to in wait to speak with someone, thereby allowing more space for additional booths. She outlines some of the screenings that will be available this year.
Pattison adds that the screenings are to be used as a guide, not as a substitute for a visit, if necessary, to a medical professional.
The 2010 Sheridan County Health Fair runs from 9 am to noon at the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome Saturday, September 18th. It is free and open to all.
