Sheridan's Senior Center is hosting a Lung Health Fair starting at 1 this afternoon.

The event is free and open to people of all ages at the agency's building, located at 211 Smith Street.

Among those available to answer questions about lung and respiratory health will be health care professionals, representatives of the American Cancer Society and respiratory therapists.

Registered dietitian Georgia Boley will have information on meal planning and the impacts of smoking on those suffering from cardiopulmonary disease, and the Alliance for Substance Abuse will offer materials to help anyone who wants to quit smoking.

The event will continue until 4, and is part of the Senior Center's new Healthy “U,” program, which is the brainchild of the Center's Help at Home Program Director Janet Korpela. The program was launched last month.
