A creative economy study in 2008 indicated that there is potential for growing the arts and culture in Sheridan and Johnson Counties to be a viable economic tool for both communities. The Sheridan Educational and Economic Development Authority will apply for a grant through the Wyoming Business Council that will help plan for that growth.
SEEDA board member Susan Bigelow explains what the $50,000 grant will allow for.
Bigelow says that they need to approach officials with Johnson County to find out if they are on board with the collaboration.
The grant application will be put together over the next month and Bigelow will bring it to the trustees for their consideration at their next scheduled meeting October 22. She stated that at that meeting she'll be looking for approval from the board to submit the application to the state before the December 1 deadline.
