Green House Living is about two weeks away from its planned opening date on January 5 as administrators moved into their offices this week and employees undergo training.
The first facility, or the Watt House, is almost complete as the hope to move residents in just after then New Year. The Scott House will be next in a couple of weeks and the final two are scheduled for completion in mid-to-late February. They are training the first half of the employees this week.
Green House Living is a skilled nursing campus and residency requires a doctor's order. It offers 24/7 skilled nursing services, but is not an assisted living or a independent living facility. A new concept to Wyoming, administrator Chris Szymanski tells us how Green House Living will differ from existing elder care.
She says the philosophy carries a circular organizational structure, centered around the elderly, allowing them to grow - a "green house" concept. Elders have their own private room with bathroom and shower, and there's a spa room near the kitchen. There will be capacity for 12 in each of the houses when completed. They will look to eventually fill their campus with 48 residents. For more information visit their website: sheridangreenhouse.org.
