The Sheridan City Council spent over an hour Monday night debating a proposal to lease a lateral grinder and excavator for the disposal of construction and demolition material at the City Landfill. City Utilities Director Dan Roberts says that leasing the grinder and excavator will be a pilot project.
While the Council did approve the resolution authorizing to lease the equipment, the terms of the lease must still be negotiated between Roberts and the company, with Roberts coming back to the Council once the terms are agreed upon. Roberts explains another aspect that still needs to be hammered out.
The resolution that was passed by the Council also changes the fee for construction and demolition material at the landfill from $102 a ton to $45 a ton. Roberts said that the goal is to have the grinder and excavator at the landfill by the end of this month.
