U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson declared Monday that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is unconstitutional. Earlier this month, Wyoming Governor Matt Mead entered Wyoming in the multi-state lawsuit challenging the Act. Mead says that he would much rather see the issue addressed on the state level.
Mead indicated that this this is not a partisan issue.
U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis also released a statement applauding the Judge's ruling, saying that the decision confirms what she has been hearing all over Wyoming, President Obama’s budget-busting health care law simply does not pass constitutional muster.
U.S. Senator Mike Enzi in a news release said that “Judge Vinson’s decision moves us one step closer to allowing Americans to keep the plans they have and preventing the higher insurance premiums that will result from this deeply flawed law”.
