Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar along with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service official Dan Ashe will travel to Wyoming within the next thirty days to meet with Governor Matt Mead about wolf management. Mead explains what he'd like to accomplish when the group meets to address ongoing wolf delisting negotiations.
In a media release issued by U.S. Senator John Barrasso, the Senator stated that Secretary Salazar has assured him that they would aggressively pursue a solution to this important issue. Barrasso also said that with this latest announcement, he would lift his hold he'd placed on Ashe's nomination for Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
