During a news conference this week, Wyoming Governor Matt Mead addressed several key issues including one of his priorities, which is to get more funding to local governments to use on infrastructure projects.
Mead offered this reaction to the news that the Legislature's Joint Appropriations Committee voted to support local funding for local governments and highway construction.
When asked he he had received a response to the letter he'd sent to the Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar to rescind the “Wild Lands” order, the Governor replied.
Mead says that he is very concerned about this order and the impacts it could have on the State as well as our counties.
Secretarial Order 3310 directs the Bureau of Land Management to inventory and identify “Wild Lands” and protect them for their wilderness values.
