Recently the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose above 10,000 for the first time in nearly two years. Many are taking this as a sign that the economy is starting to rebound. Here in Wyoming revenue projections are still bleak. In fact, Wyoming state income may drop close to $400 million. Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal says government will still be able to operate but we’ll have to tighten our belts.
The State still plans to make education a priority in the upcoming budget.
The Wyoming State Legislature will finalize the budget for the next two years during their next session which begins February 8th, 2010.
