Governor Dave Freudenthal held his weekly media conference Wednesday, and among the topics he discussed was the wolf issue in Wyoming. A federal issue, the governor described the odds as “pretty remote” of Congress removing the wolf from the Endangered Species Act.

Governor Freudenthal said he's disappointed that the federal agency has raised wolf numbers again, and said that people are always surprised to learn that Wyoming's wolf management plan for dual status was approved by the Department of the Interior more than once. Although Freudenthal supports dual status, he doubts the legislation will pass.
