Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal delivered the keynote address at the ongoing wind symposium in Laramie. Over 600 people are attending the conference. Freudenthal said that Wyoming is excited to host wind power projects, but there has to be more to it than just the turbines.
The Governor asked wind energy producers to go the extra mile to conserve sage grouse since the Federal government is considering listing the birds as endangered. Freudenthal says listing could be disastrous for the state'seconomy.
The conference continues today in Laramie, and they will post recordings of the sessions and speakers on their website.
