Wyoming Governor, Matt Mead, joined Public Pulse host, Kim Love, on Tuesday. Love asked the governor if he wanted to weigh in on the Lake DeSmet issue involving the disparities between Sheridan and Johnson counties regarding a 99-year water lease agreement with the Game and Fish.
Mead handled the issue with kid gloves.
Mead acknowledged he will have a bigger role in the Lake DeSmet proceedings after the counties have solidified their respective portions of the proposition.
Some have speculated there may be other industrial interests regarding the Lake DeSmet area. Governor Mead said that over his lifetime and time in office, he has heard of several developmental proposals for the area. However, he said he doesn't know of any at the moment.
The deadline for both Sheridan and Johnson Counties to make or break a lease agreement with the Game and Fish is late next week. To hear the entire interview with Governor Mead that aired Tuesday on Newstalk 930, click here.
