State Republican Convention saw one of the highest turnouts in several years.

Nearly 500 people from all over Wyoming were in Sheridan this weekend for the Wyoming State Republican Convention. It's one of the largest conventions for the party in a number of years, and Director of the state party, Ryan Taylor, attributes the turnout to what's coming out of Washington.

Diana Vaughan is the Chairman of the Republican Party. She says that even though the Saturday convention went long, they heard from all the candidates and went over some important issues. And as for Sheridan's hospitality, she says.

Sheridan resident and volunteer for the Sheridan County Republican Party, Carol Meineke, has attended many conventions, and was happy to have Sheridan hosting this year.

The convention wrapped up Saturday night with a celebration banquet at the Holiday Inn.
