It has been a record-breaking year at Yellowstone National Park. Sheridan Media's Betsy Love has the story:
Year-to-date and monthly visitation numbers have consistently been “topping the charts” this year—Al Nash, Yellowstone Public Affairs “Head Honcho” had these words to describe park tourism earlier this summer:
And Park Public Affairs Rep. Linda Miller says this record-breaking trend continued through October—which has been one of the biggest record-breakers so far:
This October's visitation beat the previous record set in 1988 by almost 20,000 visitors, with this October's total reaching around 190,000. This is a 52% increase from last year. However, Linda adds, that all of the park's entrances, except the park's North Entrance in Montana, closed for the season Monday—though over-snow trails will open in December.
