There are four subspecies of Cutthroat Trout in Wyoming, and the state's Game and Fish Department is challenging local anglers to meet them all.
Fishermen who collect photo evidence that they've caught the Bonneville (or Bear River), Yellowstone, Snake River and Colorado River Cutthroats can mail their photos to the regional or statewide office for special recognition. Warren Mischke, spokesman for the Game and Fish, explains more.
Mischke said most people try to catch all four kinds of cutthroat in the same year, though it's not required. The Game and Fish website has a detailed list of where to find each of kind of cuttthroat as well as information about how to submit your Cutt Slam photos.
