The Child Advocacy Services of the Big Horns held a holiday open house Thursday evening at their building located next to the library on Alger Street.
Their purpose was to get the word out about what they there and what they do. Executive Director Bobbie Walseth explains.
The open house let folks tour their facility with the hope to recruit more volunteers for the CASA program. Walseth explains.
The program is for kids caught in the court system because of abuse and/or neglect and the CASA volunteer makes sure the kids' needs or interests are being looked after.
Parents are also helped along the way through mentoring and parenting programs. Walseth says it builds a better community.
