There's nothing like the taste of home-grown veggies, but how do you get started? Landon's Greenhouse held two free workshops on Saturday, one focused on herbs and the other on planning a vegetable garden.
Janelle Gray, owner of Landon's says there are several important things to keep in mind when planning your garden.
Gray says there's one axiom for gardening that she lives by...”Grow what you want to eat and eat what you grow.”
“Out of sight, out of mind,” rings true for gardens. Plant your garden where you can see it, so you'll remember to take care of it. Gray encourages would-be gardeners to start small.
Over two dozen people showed up for the workshop. Penny Wondra was on the front row taking notes.
Gray also talked about companion gardening on Saturday. Landon's Greenhouse is located at 505 College Meadows Drive.
