A gorgeous Saturday had shoppers out early for the 6th annual “Get Out and Shop,” Sheridan's one day, mini-mall held in the gym of Sheridan High School.
Sponsored by P.E.O., close to 60 vendors were on hand selling everything from jewelery, photography, handmade items and specialty food.
Funds raised through table rental and sponsorship goes right back to P.E.O. a philanthropic educational organization that helps educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, and loans.
Begun in 1869, it's all about women helping women. Nadine Gale helped coordinate the “Get Out and Shop” event.
Women's education sometimes ends up on the back burner.
The Food Group was there. They help feed kids on weekends and the group took advantage of the event for a little more exposure for their cause. Jess Riley explains.
P.E.O. has six different programs that support women's educational funding.
