The Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum in Buffalo will host its Grand Re-Opening celebration this Saturday from 10am to 3pm.
The museum had planned to stay open year-round a few years ago, but last year decided a renovation to the museum store was needed more, so they closed this past winter to allow the renovation to happen, according to Museum Director John Gavin.
He explains more about their decision to close again this winter for renovations, and the new exhibit that will greet the visitors this summer.
The Grand Re-Opening will begin at 10am Saturday and will continue through 3pm.
This will be a “Community Day” which means admission to the museum will be free all day.
There will be refreshments offered, and there will be sales in the book store with 50% off all items with a blue dot.
The museum's summer hours will be Monday through Saturday from 9 to 6 and 12 to 6 on Sundays beginning Monday, May 26th.
