Part three of the Halloween-themed educational program put on by the Jim Gatchell Museum and the Bureau of Land Management will be today at the Johnson County Library in Buffalo.
The program -- “Frightfully Fun Fall Outreach” -- is a four-part program designed to educate through interactive activities.
Today's segment, entitled, “Owls!” will give kids in 5th through 8th grades a chance to dissect and study owl pellets along with a BLM biologist, while the younger ones can learn about the birds through reading and activities.
It begins at 6 pm at the Library's Community Room.
Gatchell Museum Educator Jennifer Romanoski said she is pleased the programs have been a real success so far.
The program is free and open to all kids.
The fourth and final part will be Monday October 24th at 6 pm and will offer crafts while learning about the history and traditions of Halloween. Costumes are encouraged.
