State wildlife officials are asking for the community's help to find a poacher.
Bud Stewart of the Sheridan Game and Fish office says an animal was killed in the Big Horns near Dayton, out of season, and left to rot.
He said they don't know exactly when the animal was killed, but believe it to be sometime around the middle of last month, close to the face of the Big Horns. He's hoping that someone saw or heard something that could be helpful in finding the poacher.
He said tips can be passed on anonymously by calling the game and fish hotline – WGFD-TIP. He said poaching is a serious offense, punishable by a fine and losing one's hunting license.
