The Game and Fish Office in Sheridan released Part 1 of it's 2011 accomplishments this week, going back through their efforts toward fish culture last year.

Other important accomplishments this year included evaluation of a new bypass channel around the Kendrick Dam on low clear creek, for the first time in 100 years fish have been able to travel past the diversion dam. Nineteen different fish species were found to have used this additional 36 miles of Clear Creek. The Game and Fish conducted a survey to find out how fishing has been going at Lake DeSmet, 1,400 anglers were talked to 1,100 fish measured. Michke touches on one of the biggest highlights of 2011.
Finally the Story Fish Hatchery was reopened in May of 2011. The hatchery is the most visited in the state of Wyoming, but more importantly offers fish spawning distribution to the entire state.
The hatchery visitors center is undergoing renovations and upgrades and should be reopened in May.
