It was a full house at the 28th annual Friends of the Library Auction Saturday night.

It was a packed house as over 400 supporters of the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library gathered Saturday night for the 28th Annual “Friends of the Library” Auction.  The major fundraiser for the library, it was elbow-to-elbow traffic as attendees strolled through the large variety of items that waited to be auctioned off.

Marilyn Koester,co-president of the Friends of the Library board tells us what the money raised will be used for.

The library serves as a focal point and gathering place for many in our community and Saturday night also served as an introduction to the new library director Cameron Duff who replaces newly retired director Cathy Aldrich.

Duff, with his wife Kaitlin, moved here from Colorado a week ago and are very excited to see the large turn-out for the library fundraiser.

Kaitlin agrees.

The Duff’s want to make Sheridan their home.

Duff hopes to build on the work of former director Cathy Aldrich and wants to move forward as technology grows.

Admission Saturday night was by purchasing an annual membership.  In addition to the auction, drinks and hors d’oeuvres were served to the overflow crowd.  Last year the annual auction brought in $43,000.

UPDATE! Including memberships and donations, the 2010 event brought in $41,560.
