At his regularly-scheduled news conference Wednesday, Governor Dave Freudenthal discussed health care issues and wolf management in Wyoming.
On the subject of health care, he addressed Wyoming's users-funded health insurance program that, two years ago, incorporated a wellness piece. The Governor said that things like free, annual, medical check-ups have improved employee health, but the wellness program actually helps to keep costs down:
Regarding wolf management, the Governor voiced skepticism about the work of a three-state committee, comprised of legislators from Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, whose stated aim is to rewrite Wyoming’s wolf law to satisfy federal agencies and courts
The wolf has been relisted as an endangered species, something the Governor said he’s not pleased about.
