The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation presented the hospital with a $250,000 check for the new digital mammography equipment that was recently purchased and is now available to patients. Foundation Executive Director Ada Kirven says there were many who volunteered their time to help bring the equipment to the hospital.
Kirven says that patients won't notice much of a difference with the new equipment.
The campaign to raise the $250,000 began last October with the Pink Link run/walk that boasted over 650 participants. The Whedon Cancer Detection Foundation then added a $100,000 grant to help meet the goal, and of course many individuals and businesses throughout the community showed their support with major gifts and volunteering their time to help raise the funds.
