Bighorn National Forest managers and members of the Forest Plan Steering Committee will tour three locations in the Powder River District Thursday for the annual forest plan monitoring and evaluation field trip.
Public Affairs Specialist Susan Douglas said the trip will begin at Lost Cabin Campground, located 29 miles west of Buffalo, at ten in the morning. Then the group will proceed to both the Billy Creek Area and the West Tensleep Corridor.
She said the Forest Plan Steering Committee is comprised of forest service managers and cooperating agencies including county commissions, conservation districts and state agencies.
She said the purpose of the committee is to monitor the progress and give input on the goals of the 2005 Revised Bighorn Forest Plan.
The field trip is open to the public, she said, but participants should bring their own lunch and field gear.
