Buffalo City Planner Zach Montgomery discussed a number of projects with the city council at their last meeting, including the refurbishing of the Heritage Bridge across Clear Creek downtown.
Montgomery said the Crazy Woman Square project has reached substantial completion and is roughly $100,000 under budget, so to use the grant and matching funds already earmarked for the square project, he requested the council approve Fletcher Construction of Sheridan to perform the work on Heritage Bridge.
Mayor Randy Dyess said the council could approve the work now with the grant funds or wait to do the necessary work and pay for it themselves.
The council voted to approve the bid award for Fletcher Construction.
The city received three bids on the project: Diamond Point Construction came with a bid of $89,280; Myers Construction with a bid of $62,700; and Fletcher's bid of $55,000.
