Sheridan Chamber of Commerce cut the ribbon at First Light Children's Center Thursday night as the early childhood education center held an open house to advertise their summer and fall offerings.
Director Ann Perkins tells us how things are going in their new endeavor.
Perkins said that the center has 14 students enrolled and has had nine more register since Monday, including Thursday night. She said that they have been growing but would definitely like to have more.
She added that they recently distributed a parent survey that was returned with positive feedback. One mother, Kaylee, wrote: “First Light offers my child a day full of activities and learning, not just babysitting. Early childhood education has helped my child and I communicate because his language skills have improved.”

At the end of the month First Light will give an update to the Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority Joint Powers Board, the entity who holds the lease on their building on East Brundage.
