Crews from Sheridan Fire Rescue responded to a structure fire at 1364 Highland Avenue shortly after 2 pm Thursday. Fire Marshal Brian Songer explains that the investigation is ongoing as to what exactly caused the fire.
Songer points out that the fire could have been a lot worse.
Songer said that most of the damage was to the exterior of the structure and that there was some damage to an upper bedroom and attic area of the unit. The fire was reported by an unidentified neighbor who saw smoke coming from the home. No one was at home at the time of the fire. The home is owned by Donald Nicholson.
