County fire officials give the "green light" to burning; the fire ban has been lifted as of 10 a.m. October 19th.

Upon the recommendation of Sheridan County Fire Warden Bill Biastoch and the Fire Chiefs of the Rural Fire Protection Districts, the Sheridan County Commissioners have rescinded Resolution 10-07-025 to remove the partial fire restrictions imposed August 3. Lifting of the fire ban is effective as of 10:00 a.m., October 19, 2010.

As always, however, Biastoch encourages the public to Practice sound safety measures when burning accumulated refuse, as the weather may turn warm again. The public should continue to be aware that burning should not be done on Red-Flag Warning Days. It is important that you make your District Fire Chief aware of when you are burning to prevent unnecessary call-outs of these volunteer fire departments.

You may do this by calling the Dispatch Center at 307-672-2413.
