The Sheridan City Council were presented with the finalized Zucker Implementation Review Committee report Monday night. The ZIRC Committee was formed in the summer of 2008 after Consultant Paul Zucker issued a report to the City that included 96 recommendations that would help streamline the City's development and building permit process.
ZIRC was comprised of 12 members that included local builders, developers, realtors, engineers and City staff. City Pubic Works Director Nic Bateson says that the two and a half years that ZIRC existed a lot was accomplished, including the implementation of those 96 recommendations.
Bateson said that the next steps would be to continue to review the success of the recommendations and develop new initiatives that would help encourage development in Sheridan.
The Council also approved on second reading an ordinance to rezone a single lot of 15,247 square feet of the Palmer's Addition on KROE Lane. The owners of the property, Mr. and Mrs. Shelby are requesting to rezone their property from a B-1 Business District to an M-1 Industrial District.
