Buffalo's new intermediate school is approaching the end of its design phase, but one last public meeting is scheduled Tuesday to unveil the latest design changes in the school.

The meeting will begin at 5:30pm at the Meadowlark Elementary School Gymnasium.

Johnson County Schools Superintendent Dr. Rod Kessler said input from staff and the public have been incorporated into the changes.

Kessler said some of the changes include exchanging the art/science area for the library area, adding additional storage and adding a second music room.

Public input will be taken at Tuesday's meeting, Kessler said, and if there are any additional changes that need to be made, they will be done immediately.

The architect, at that point, will then begin work on construction documents and getting the project ready to go out to bid.

According to Kessler, the timeline for the project is to put it to bid in January of 2012, hopefully get the bids to the School Facilities Commission in February for their approval and for them to award the contract and get construction started in the Spring of 2012.

Kessler also said more meetings will be scheduled in January on a related matter.
