Airplanes of all shapes and sizes will be filling the sky over Sheridan County this weekend. The Sheridan County Pilots' Association will be hosting an open house and fly-in Saturday at the Sheridan County Airport and the Flying Cowboys fly-in will be taking place Saturday and Sunday west of town at the Sheridan County Sportsman's Club.
The latter event features pilots from five states that will have their remote-controlled aircraft on display and in-flight throughout the weekend. Flying Cowboys President John Steir says that the fly-in is a chance for enthusiasts to get together and have some fun.
Steir said that pilots will begin showing up Friday, however, Saturday will be the big day as hundreds of pilots and their remote controlled planes will be taking to the skies throughout the day. He added that the fly-in will also continue Sunday till around noon.
The Flying Cowboys fly-in is free of charge and will once again take place at the Sheridan County Sportsman's Club at 89 Keystone Road. Steir said that people can just take West 5th Street and follow the signs.
