Fiber Art Show at the Library

Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library is a blanket of color for the month of October, literally. Thursday night a reception was held for the fiber artists.

Janet Hoxie, this year's coordinator, tells us what fiber art is all about.

Fiber art includes quilting, tatting, embroidery, crocheting, knitting -- in short, anything that incorporates fiber.

Judy Sackett had her quilt called “Starlight, Starbright,” on display. Quilting is something she always wanted to learn.

Linda Hall was there with her quilts. Her ex-husband brought home what she says was some of the "gaudiest, ugliest material from Africa" she had ever seen, but being the creative person she is, she took gaudy and turned it into gorgeous.

Hours upon hours are invested in making a quilt, and many folks ask Hall to make one for them -- until the subject of price comes up.

The Fiber Art 14 Show is being held on the mezzanine there through October 30th.
