First Interstate Bank hosted an economic seminar in Sheridan Thursday where FIB Staff Economist and Senior Investment Manager Rick McCann presented “Perspective 2012: A View Toward our Economic Future.”

While discussing economic figures pertaining to Wyoming, McCann said that the state will most likely experience a continued substandard pace of economic growth in the second half of 2011, even somewhat slower than the second half of 2010.

McCann also stated that while Wyoming's unemployment rate remains much lower than the national rate, the state is still experiencing a much slower than desired economic recovery.

The economic seminar in Sheridan, sponsored by First Interstate Bank, is part of a series of seminars throughout Wyoming that also include Casper, Cheyenne and Gillette.
