Giving Sheridan a little taste of the world, it was Sheridan College's sixth annual Festival of Cultures Friday night. Held in the Golden Dome, it was a culinary delight as students and the community sat down together to enjoy. Coordinator Brenda Haseman says variety is the spice of life.
Set to a backdrop of Latin music, diners could sample the cuisine of France, Italy, Brazil, Ethiopia, Germany, Sweden, and of course, the United States. Chef Nathan Diogo was serving up a Greek dish using lamb that was being cooked using a vertical spit.
This was Julie Harrison's second year to go to the Festival of Cultures. Her heritage is German and Swedish. So what did she sample?
And what about the German cabbage rolls?
It was a family friendly event with the kids receiving a bag with at-your-table activities.
