The Buffalo Senior Center is sponsoring their first Father's Day Chili Cook-off this weekend in Buffalo.
The event, which begins at noon at the horseshoe pits at Washington Park, is the first of what is hoped will be an annual happening.
The public is welcome to come down and sample different chili recipes and vote for their favorite, purchase goodies from the bake sale and stick around and play horseshoes throughout the afternoon.
Sally Frost, Activities Director with the Buffalo Senior Center, tells us how the chili cook-off came to be.
For those interested in entering their chili in the competition, the entry fee is just $5 per recipe and there will be cash and prize awards for the best ones. You must register by 5pm Friday to compete.
In addition to the chili cook-off, there will be a bake sale with many items available from cookies to cornbread to cakes available for purchase. Refreshments will also be available.
