At last Monday's Johnson County School Board meeting, each administrator present gave updates and reports to the board.
Summer school is in full swing with 15 kids from the 4th and 5th grades participating at Clear Creek Elementary, and 30 kids in summer school at BHS. Students in the Special Ed department and at the middle school are involved as well.
BHS Activities Director Shad Spilski said there is an activity rate of 82.2% at BHS. 278 kids are doing something extra-curricular, whether a sport, band, activity or club at the high school.
Meadowlark Elementary Principal Kathy Camino said kids there participating in a Relay For Life fundraiser raised $1,400 for the cause. She reported the numbers of students expected in the fall at Meadowlark is roughly 382; 80 have already registered for kindergarten and there are 10 to 15 more expected before school starts. 103 are expected in first grade, 81 in second, and 108 in third.
