Fairboard Discusses Plan To Fix Drainage Issues

The Sheridan County Fair Association Board of Trustees discussed several different options on how to begin implementing the first phase of the fairgrounds master plan, which is fixing the drainage problems in the infield area of arena's one and two. The discussion centered whether to begin work on arena one or two this year, and the pros and cons of either option.

Fairboard Member James Bohnsack says the board chose to move forward with the final plans for the site work, although it's still up in the air as to what arena will be worked on first.

Sheridan County Public Works Director Rod Liesinger said that En Tech Engineering will have the final plans and specs available for review on October 23rd and that they should be available for bidders on the 31st of this month.

The board also elected to table a 6% rate increase at the fairgrounds for the coming year. The board felt that more information was needed before a decision can be made on raising the rates.
