Dr. O'Malley will present his lecture on Ethics of the Spoken Word March 23rd at 7 in the C-Tel Presentation Hall.

The public is invited to hear Dr. John O'Malley present “The Ethics of the Spoken Work: the College, the Faulty, the Student” this evening at the Sheridan College C-Tel Presentation Hall.

Dr. O'Malley is a college administrator in Houston, TX. He has taught ethics in both classroom and professional development contexts for over 20 years. He says that he read many years ago about how universities had begun to squelch free speech. The book made an impact on him.

Some of his talking points will address the student in the college, in light of recent litigation on 'free speech'; the faculty member in the college, in light of some recent court cases; and the administration of a college in its mal/administration of justice in light of the First Amendment and the rubric called 'Academic Freedom';

The Ethics Lecture is supported in part by the Dr. Seymour and Mrs. Muriel Thickman Lecture Endowment and the Chamberlain Free Enterprise Lecture Endowment. Dr. O'Malley will begin speaking at 7 pm. It is free, with a reception following his lecture.
