U.S. Senator Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) questioned Defense Secretary Leon Pannetta this week on several issues, one being that of proposed air force base removal under President Barack Obama's FY2013 proposed budget.
Enzi's question was in regard to a rumor that the president would unilaterally remove one base from each state, and Pannetta's decision to review this on a state to state basis.
He also questioned the Defense Secretary, asking him about the status of the country's nuclear resources under the proposed budget and if it may be reduced.
Pannetta clarified that Enzi's question referred to a review done on the country's stockpile of nuclear resources and that no decision has been made so far. He added that one option included in the review was to maintain status quo. Enzi said he appreciated the answer, considering what's happening in Iran right now.
