US Senator Mike Enzi says that he's glad President Barack Obama is focusing on jobs, but says the president is going about it in the wrong way, in a release from the senator's office Thursday.
In a statement released prior to Obama's speech Thursday evening, Enzi said that Obama is using a strategy to create jobs that has already failed - more spending.
Enzi added that Congress should focus on bills to better prepare workers for jobs.
Obama's speech focused on a pitch to congress that asks them to approve a $447 billion bill that's aimed at creating more jobs and give more money to American consumers to spend.
